Default Caravan Heat Not Working

I have a 2003 Dodge Caravan and the heat is not working. The blower works and the A/C works but the heat does not. I flushed the heater core and flushed and filled the complete system. Both hoses are hot at the fire wall. I burped the system by parking on an incline and opening the cap while it ran. I reset the actuator by pressing the power and circulation button. I can hear it cycle but can not tell for sure if the blending door is opening. I am trying to trouble shoot as much as I can before taking it in. Would the thermostat cause this problem? Is there a trick to getting the blending door to open if it is stuck? Thanks for any help.

Welcome to DF

Yes, A thermostat is stuck open. You will not have any heat. Replace the t-stat and gasket.

Thanks I will change it. Is there a better way to check if the blend door is stuck closed too?

You may need a scanner to check the blend doors.

Thanks. I removed the blend door actuator and the connector on the hvac box spins without resistance which tells me the connection to the blend door broke. I am going to use a hanger via the actuator connector hole to try and open the blend door. Do you know if the blend door would be below or to the side of the actuator ? Thanks again.
