Default Small hose identification

While doing some work on my 2003 Grand Caravan (3.3 L), a small hose was severed. It looks like it connects into a vacuum line. Can someone please tell me what this small hose is connected to? Also, can it just be replaced with bulk hose of the same size, or is it something special? Thanks for your help.

Thanks guys; I'll likely just try to find some decent rubber hose to replace the plastic line with. The plastic has become pretty brittle (hence why it just snapped in half with the slightest movement).
