My current caravan is having a strange issue. While driving sometimes it will downshift for like 2 seconds then go back into the correct gear. I know this mostly cause my rpms go up briefly. Also the ABS light comes on then goes off. A while back it would downshift when stopped and I couldnt ever get it to go to overdrive. Doesnt do that anymore. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like a shift solenoid issue. First step is to do (or have done) and transmission flush and filter / fluid change. This may clean up any clogged or partially clogged solenoids. If you've recently done a filter/fluid change, trying running some SeaFoam TransTune in the transmission fluid (follow instructions on the bottle). I always like to try these "soft" fixes before tearing into things with a wrench.
