Default 2002 GCS Idle In Drive Vibration Question

2002 GC Sport 3.3

I have a low amplitude high frequency vibration @ idle that one may call a hum when stopped in Drive with the brake on. You can kind of hear it in the cab like a micro subwoofer.

It does not fluctuate but I cleaned the IAC and the throttle body anyways. Still there. It may be the characteristic of the Van but I just started noticing it lately. The Idle is 600 or 700 RPM. If I try and just crack the gas it stops but its hard to hold it there.

No EGR on my van.

Any suggestions on what to look at would be great.

No codes other than a battery disconnect in the last 50 starts. New battery.

Thanks

I'd look at the serpentine belt and tensioner for vibration and fluctuation.

Exhaust pipes hitting/rubbing on something or a loose hanger?

Thanks, I have been focusing on it more lately and its like there is a small subwoofer playing a vibration speed beat. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. If one does not own the vehicle one does not notice if you know what I mean.

Just crack the gas and it stops. I mean a micro crack. She idles in gear @ 650.

Usual problem is the decoupler clutch in the alternator, most likely it is either that or the A/C compressor.

Thanks, I'll look there. I see by your profile you have the 2002 also and like me "strive to over maintain it" heh?

I updated the link in my signature tonight. The rear wheels shown too much of the rusty drums. Took them to the local grave stone maker, who will also sand blast anything you bring him, and painted them caliper silver.
Those places have some of the finest materials to blast with.

Brilliant! Never would have thought of going to a gravestone maker for blasting.

Its been known here forever that he does that. Blasting is a huge part of that business.

I am getting a vibration that can be felt in the steering wheel, in drive at a stop on a 2002 with the 2.4... I removed and inspected the front motor mount, it is degraded, has some tears but is not separated in any places...( its on the replace list)
I have cleaned the throttle body, as well as replaced the IAC....
Its worse when the AC is on, the belts, tensioner and pulley have been replaced.
The injectors have been replaced as well as a general turn up performed, wires and plugs.... there are no codes and she runs great otherwise... just have to shift to neural at at a stop light to keep the vibration at bay... 122k miles
I have inspected the right mount as well as the trans mount and they appear solid

Any ideas?
