I bought this 99 AWD caravan with the fuel pump wine from hell , I was told it was the Fuel pump anyhow , SO i get a New Pump put it in start it up and nothing changed GRRRRR when i step ont he gas it goes away , let off whineeeeeeeeeeee LOUD . what else could that be { besides a bad NEW pump }

 

Can you isolate the sound from the fuel tank?

it is hard to work under there without a lift

 

possible the fuel line is contacting the frame or body somewhere and transferring the pump noise.

 

well never Liston to a shop, the shop I bought the van from told me it was the fuel pump , thats why i changed it , after looking I found a vacuum can next to the take one of the lines were leaking , that was the sound { got to say that was one loud sound for a leak } the good news is the new pump only cost 50 bucks. I also fixed the ground cable { i dont get how a ground going to a plastic tank grounds anything } the tank and sender are both plastic . but it works , thanks for the reply's

 

Rub a balloon on your shirt and you get static electricity. No metal there. I would imagine that's what your ground is for.
