I own a 2011 grand caravan and love it. over the last month however it has been into the dealer at lest 5 times. the check engine light keeps coming on. I took it in and they first cleared the code and said there was no fault. Now it is going in again. There is a stored fault for P000B Bank 1 Cam 2 slow response. A diagnostic was performed and phaser cleaning which changed nothing. So they are going to replace the phaser and oil control valve. This is the second time that this has to be done. Last time was on the other bank. What does this actually mean? is any damage being done to my engine through all of this? and for the love of god why would a large dealership not have parts on site!!! I have to wait a week for parts to come in again. Very frustrated at this point. I love the van but this problem is getting too me. I also have a 1997 chev astro van that has had less shop time in the last year than my new dodge!!! I was warned not to buy one but I did anyway. And I like the van but am I in for a long term nightmare??

Maybe the dealer didn't get the memo, When replacing cam phaser. Replace as a pair. Not one at a time. Also let them know that maybe a star case for you vehicle.

 

Thanks for that I will let them know that it should be replaced as a pair. What is a star case?
