Put a new (used) bcm in my 99 caravan. Worked great until today when I got in the car by unlocking the front passenger door. A car alarm went off! This car never had a car alarm before. We have no way to shut it off. Tried all the things with disconnecting battery and waiting, doing the door locks etc and still when we try to start it, it starts up perfectly for a second then dies. Help!
The car is sitting overnight in a state park and we are hoping the computer will clear overnight. We have checked all the fuses and they are working.

 

PS. We put the old bcm back in. No more flashing light or horn, but the fuel pump or whatever is still cutting out when we try to start the van.

 

You need to buy a reman BCM thru the dealer and that way its program for your van. It should be a on an exchange bases.

Is there any way to get the car started as it sits now with the old BCM in but still locked up from the used one when the alarm went off? I need to get it home. It had been drivable with the old BCM, the speedometer just didn't work. With the new one everything had worked perfectly until this alarm situation
