Unhappy Problem: air/radio/windows/wipers cutting out

Hello dodgeforum members! Anyone know about electrical systems? 2010 Dodge Caravan SE. The air, radio, windows, and wipers intermittently cut out as Im driving down the road. It seems to happen when I am accelerating from a stop, and started on my way to work this morning. I havent had time to investigate.

Thanks!

L25 ignition cylinder recall - free repair by dealer.

Unplug IOD fuse under hood and replug in. Try that first.

Make appt with dealer to have the ignition cylinder replaced.

I think the Recall is only for 08 and 09.

But the problem does sound like the Ignition cylinder is getting jump to "START" position instead of "ON".

Does restarting the car fix the issue? or jiggle the key?
Also, is your Key chained to like 5 pounds of stuff?

thanks for the replies. You were both right. Though I didn't experience problems, I did have the cylinder replaced 2 years ago from the recall; right away I started having problems. Would be very hard to turn, and I have to manually turn it back to on from start position. I must not have seated it correctly.

I wonder if they'll fix what they failed to fix since its been a few years.

Did you get this problem resolved? If so, what was the cure?

Thanks.

Get the vehicle to the dealer. Have the dealer contact star and ask for help. you are having a total bus failure.

Thanks for your response.

Any idea if this will be covered under the manufacturer's warranty?

Send me the last 9 of the vin by a PM, not on the open forum. I can see what your warranty coverage is.

From what I've found is that the problem, at least with our van is that the plastic fobik (key) has become worn from use (In & out of the ignition switch) and causes the fobik to not make a positive fit.

Started using the second fobik that came with the van and the problem hasn't occurred-yet.

Would rather have a conventional key than this plastic junk.

Now while using the second fobik in the ignition switch, the problem has returned.

When it occurs, I will wiggle the fobik and all is fine. Still an intermittent issue, happens randomly.

Think it's time for Dodge to provide a permanent cure for this problem.
