check engine light

Hi,
97 gr caravan, 300,000km
A quick question: Is there any difference between using the code reader to clear the code and disconnect the battery?

They both will clear the memory. The code reader would be better, but it only clears the codes in the engine controller. Not the other controllers.

Another aspect? Thousands have disconnected the battery for any number of reasons without mishap. I know I have. On very rare occasions it can create problems. If you have a choice use the scanner.
