I appreciate all your insite guys but everything suggested has been done. The verbal complaint has brought me to the point where they have now assigned engineers to verify the issue. Over a year now. What is making me angry is that I bought new and I feel like I bought a used van... by the time they actually fix it its going to be at junk yard. I think next time I'll support Japan and buy a Toyota.

Lacoury,

Sorry to her about your concerns. Has everything been resolved with your sliding door concerns?

Yes this is an issue. We recently purchased our 2011 Dodge Caravan from a Dodge Dealership and noticed it after we took it home. Note that we bought it just under the 60,000 km mark. Brought it back within 3 days after exceeding the 60,000km and they admitted that it is an issue, they agreed that we did not cause the scratching but wanted to charge us $150 to fix it.
We mentioned that "the Van does it to itself" and there again they agreed and we mentioned that there is a repair kit for this but they wouldn't budge.
We called Dodge directly but got no where with that as well.
Its a shame... because we like the van but we will never purchase another Dodge Chrysler product again. There's something to be said about standing behind your product and we did not feel that this was done at all.

Adecosta,

I am sorry to hear about your disappointment. If you would like me to review your file, please feel free to PM me your VIN# and the name of your servicing dealer.

I can not guarantee assistance, but I would be happy to look into this for you.

PM sent with Vin
Note that we have owned a Durango and PT cruiser with no issues until now
Thank you for looking into this.
Anything you can do would be appreciated.
There are a laundry list of items that could have been "better" in our purchase and addressing this would be a huge step in restoring faith in your product.
I will list only 2 of these many issues:
1) we were assured the car was checked and was provided a list of the all points check - However - there were brake issues, alignment issues, tire balancing issues and on and on. Immediately after the transaction the attitude changed. Even though we voiced concerns and we had it on record at the point of purchase and we were ensured that if the problem persisted, that the rust would come off the rotors and the wobbling would go away... the dealership was reluctant to address the deficiency a few days later. They eventually repaired the faulty brakes but it was a painful process.
I found out later a friend of mine purchased from this same dealershp and he noted brake issues as well that was not taken seriously. He found out later that there was a crack in one of the brake parts.

Brings into question whether any check was done on the vehicles at all and worse yet how they are comfortable with sending out vehicles with safety issues.
we took our alignment and balance issues to KAL Tire as we were told "we have to stop somewhere" by the dealership.
2) the dealership listed the van at $19,989 and we negotiated eventually making the purchase. Later that evening we find out that the van was listed at $18,000 on their website and on autotrader. In discussing this with the dealership they initially acted like this was a huge surprise but we observed indicators that this was common practice.

Just not a great way to do business and ensure trust in the product and brand

Default so disappointing

After a week and still no response. Figured as much. Consistent with the rest of this transaction. Can't say I'm surprised.
Once they have your money they aren't interested in going any further to retain the relationship.

Lesson learned. We'll be buying Japanese next time. Well worth the price to not buy a vehicle with multiple issues and a bogus "all points check"

Katie,
THANK YOU!
I just recieved a call from my dealership and they are going to apply the fix. Appointment made for tomorrow morning.
They will assess the damage this has caused on the panel and see if they can buff this out.
Note that he mentioned that this fix works about 80% of the time.

Will update this thread after we get the Van back.

Katie,
We, my family really appreciate this.

"We'll be buying Japanese next time." You really think that will be a cure all? The dealership is the key far more than the manufacturer. There are great dealerships out there but far too many lousy ones.

Yes I believe it will cure all.
What are your thoughts on this? Are the Japanese smarter? I know for a fact they are shorter and better at math.
