Okay thanks for the input im guessing the chimes for oilchange and low tire presure and open door chimes? Other then that can i install without the chimes? To be completely honest those chimes are annoying lol or will i get some kind of error in the system? If i just got a plug to attach to new head unit?

Assuming the '08 GC is more or less the same as my '08 T&C, the factory radio does not have a separate switched accessory power. The radio is commanded on or off by data on the CAN bus. The C2r chy4 widget can decode the CAN data and create an accessory power signal. Or, what I did is to add a relay, switched by the accessory 12V power outlet, to feed battery power (yellow wire in the van radio harness) to the aftermarket radio. Then buy a cheap installation kit (e.g. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-2011-Double-Din-Dash-Kit-After-Market-Radio-Install-Wire-Harness-Antenna-/400403885092?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d39ee6c24 ) and you are all set.
EDIT: note that if you are installing a double DIN aftermarket unit, it might interfere with a metal bracket inside the dash opening. A pry bar takes care of that
