hey folks, i have a 1993 plymouth Voyager 3.0 v6, when it's cold, it slams into reverse so hard it sounds like somethings gonna break, and it refused to upshift until it runs for a bit and warms up. when it warms up and runs for a bit it acts fine, only does this when cold. it this tranny shot or maybe something that can be fixed? help! thanks.

 

Is your transmission a 3 speed or a 4 speed transmission?

 

I was hoping only one transmission came with the 3.0. the shifter only says 1,2,D. It feeld like it has a OD or 4th gear, is there an iddentifier on the transmission or a number in the VIN that would tell me? or any other way to tell?

 

oh and btw the trans fluid is at full and looks clean.

 

Does it have a large solenoid pack on the front of the trans? If so it's the a604 4-speed, if not it's the a670 3-speed.
