[5th Gen : 08+]: 2012 GC SXT A pillar knock
I just bought my van with 44k miles on it, and took it for its first 100 mile run on the interstate. I noticed that when I'm using the cruise control and start approaching another vehicle, there is a sound like rocks hitting the windshield, but just on the left side, and it sounds more like it's coming from the a pillar vs anything outside. I know what rocks sound like, but this only happens when using the cruise control behind another vehicle.
Am I crazy or is this some sort of warning to get my attention to cancel the cruise control??

I haven't pulled it off yet, but from just banging around on it I can't replicate the noise, nor when I'm driving on rough roads through town. I'll pull it off tomorrow and see if there's something loose
So the noise got worse, and I inspected the triangle shaped trim piece just in front of the driver side mirror on the body not the door and there is a retaining clip busted so it's been flapping in the wind. Very annoying but I'm glad I finally figured it out!
did you ever find a replacement part? I have a similar issue on the passenger side, infact the part came off driving down the highway. I am looking for one but don't know what the part is called. Do you know the name of the part?
Post a pic of the part.
