Which engine do you have in the van? I see the tach going up and down, but is it making the whistle sound when driving? Also when did this problem start.

It is 2014 Caravan, bought it just 2 weeks ago. I hear it always even I am driving. I hear it since last week. I hear sometimes clear and loud but sometimes it is not clear. But still there.
Is it possible any electronic or audio problem? My van has also DVD option.
Do I need to ground rac?
Somebody suggests Alternator noise.

he have the 3.6l what I can see he is stopped. puts me to think either he hearing the condenser fans running and somehow the air is making the sound. the other thing is the engine might be starved with air or something in the intake. might need to check the box filter inlet. I have company vehicle that someone drives that whistles like that when the filter plugs.

Try removing the fan belt and see if the sound id gone. It could be a water pump or plug filter.

Do you hear it standing outside the van? Does it get louder if you open the hood and listen to the engine? Is it coming from the left or right side of the engine? The dealer says it's normal. Head to the dealer and ask to listen to another van equipped the same.

if dealer says its normal never ever go back to that dealer. actually report them. idiots. that's diffinitely not normal.

my guess you got a issue with a bearing, either alternator pulley, tensioner. sounds like bearing to me, seems pitch gets higher revs too.

Let me know what you find out , we just got a 14 AVP also and my wife says she can hear a whistle once in awhile. It also has a cold start whine which I understand is a known problem that they don't have an answer for yet . And you wonder why they get a spotty reliability rating!
