Default 03 Caravan, P0442 and P0455

I got a great deal on a Caravan but it has a P0442 and a P0455 code for the evap system.

Anyone have experience with those codes and know how to fix it or what might be causing it?

I guess I'll just have to check the lines from what I've been reading.

I only posted this thread in hopes it would be similar to my old car which was ALWAYS a solenoid whenever one of them threw an evap code and that someone might know.....

In this case however, it's apparently just a leak and not something so straight forward.

This will at least give you some areas to inspec. Cracked hoses under the air cleaner box are a common complaint:

Check the LDP pump hoses and the small Evap hose under the air cleaner box. If those are good, then replace the Evap vent valve. And maybe try a known good gas cap.

Thanks guys, I know it's been a long time but I'm now looking at trying to fix this as I have to get my van etested.

I just replaced the O2 sensor as I had a code for that and now have a P0442, P0455 and P0456

So I'll check out the hoses under the filter box and other areas that I can inspect.

I check under the airbox and found the short piece of hose that connects the test port to the solenoid to be completely rotted, the rest seemed ok.

I haven't looked under the van yet but this was likely the source of the large leak.

oh and replacing the small piece of hose may have done the trick to solve all my vacuum related codes.

It's been a few days and while I haven't done much driving it has been through a few complete start cycles and so far no MIL..... yet.

Because my understanding is that he is from London, Ontario. I might be wrong. I was just curious.
I'm glad your problem was solved. Thanks for reporting what you found.
