Default ABS Pump Module

As some of you know I just inherited a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan that needs some work. However, my neighbor who has a decent 2001 Chrysler Town & Country told me I can have his for parts for $300 solely because the ABS Pump Module has gone bad and he is done trying to fix the van (he just spent hundreds on brakes, brand new master cylinder, and tune up). The van runs perfectly (even has ice cold AC) but no brakes. When you press the brake pedal, it goes to the floor without stopping the vehicle. The dealership says it's because the ABS pump is shot since they just put in a new master cylinder and verified there are no other leaks. Does this make sense??? Can this device fail internally rendering the brakes inoperable??

Did they to bleed the ABS module with a scanner? Or was there any codes in the brake system?

I really dont know. They brought it to a chrysler dealer where her father works as a mechanic so I assume they would do what is required to properly diagnose.

Try to find out from the father if the ABS module has an internal leak.
