Dealer pushing for transmission flush and throttle body injection too soon?
Hi all,
our 2013 has around 47000KM and is due for an oil change this week.
Last time i was at the dealer, they were pushing for a transmission flush and throttle injection spread out between the next 2 oil changes. Just going over the maintenance service schedule manual and the flush should occur around 96000KM or 72 months.
It seems to be way to early for this type of work to be done?
I'm also not familiar with the process, but do they just flush or do they also drop the pan and replace the filter(s)?
Also, for the throttle body injection, I didn't see anything mentioned in the manual, so I'll have to take their word for it.

Transmission flushes are becoming more prevalent due to the complexity of the newer transmissions. They flush the complete transmission, which is something a simple garage cannot do, and change the filter. You should follow the service schedule unless you drive it under extreme conditions or start to notice abnormal shifting.
I'm at a loss as to what "throttle body injection" means. The throttle body should be cleaned out once in a while if you see buildup around the blade or experience weird idling. The injectors can be kept in good shape with a can of injector cleaner in the gas tank at every fourth fill up.

I'm gonna have the local Valvoline quickchange joint flush my transfer case here soon... but it hasn't been done in 22 years. I reckon it's ABOUT time...
FWIW - my wife's '08 SXT is still on the original transmission fluid at 73k miles, and doing fine.

LOL my 90's Buicks all ran to 250k miles and rusted out. Never changed the tranny fluids or brake fluid for that matter. The old stuff was bullet proof.

Most 90s stuff was like that. Minus the random trans issue with the 604s and 670s, but compared to the new 6-speeds issues, even they seem bulletproof.

We have a lot of Dodge/Chrysler products in the family all of which fall under my care. Oil changes are with synthetic and according to the book, while on warranty, then double the mileage between changes after the warranty expires.
Trans fluids, power steering and differentials all get serviced on schedule.
To save money and weight, there is no such thing as a design safety margin anymore.
