[2nd Gen : 91-95]: trying to find Crankshaft Position Sensor
Hi. I have a 1995 Dodge Caravan SE 3.0L SR277968 are the last 8 numbers of the VIN. I have been pulling my hair out (what little is left) trying to find the sensor and have seen countless pics on google that mostly turn out to be pics of some car OTHER than a Caravan.
Any help would be immensely appreciated as this is my only car and I have cancelled 3 VA Hospital appointments because of no ride. The VA is too far away (160 miles) to get them to come get me. I really NEED to find the sensor.

The repair manual says to access it from under the vehicle. It's located on the transmission just above the axles behind the engine. I found it was easier to access from the top towards the firewall under the exhaust pipe that connects the manifolds. If you still can't find it I'll send a picture from the repair manual I have. You should be able to google 1995 dodge caravan 3.0 crank sensor location. Let me know how it works.
I'd love to see that pic. I have been told (and seen pics from google) of a few locations and it hasn't been there. Most said it was above the oil pan on the back of the engine. Others said behind the starter. Some others said near the pulleys on the passengers side. Another said on the transmission bellhousing.
I have the Chilton book for the car and it doesn't even show where it is. So, I'm not sure which repair manual you are referencing, but if it is where you say it is, I will be sure to come back and profess my never-ending gratitude because this is the first I've heard of it being in the location you mentioned.
I found this forum through you asking the same question about your 3.3L (if I remember correctly) through a couple google searches.
Unfortunately, it's too dark to check now, but as soon as light hits in the morning I'll check it out. My fingers are crossed so hard they look like twizzlers! lol

It's very hard to locate, standing on the drivers side look under the rear manifold. It has a 10 mm bolt holding it in. I had to feel around the first time I found mine. Like I said it's in the transmission just above where the axles go into the trans close to a transmission to engine bolt.

Ok, I just went to yahoo and typed in 1995 caravan 3.0 crank sensor location. Click onto one of the videos, it shows the sensor is on the block near the end of the starter. It has a yellow and purple wire running to it and is hard to see.
