Default Turn signal

My left turn signal doesn't can cel had relay switch replaced and now neither of them cancel. We watched a video on how to replace the relay which was pretty simple but doesn't work.
Is there any other parts to the whole system that makes it cancel or did we possibly get it in wrong.

The cancelling mechanism is in the steering column, isn't it?

No idea but looking more on Google it might be the clock spring.
I am also wondering could the switch have been put in wrong or does everything just line uo including the mechanism on the steering wheel

When the wheel returns fast then sometimes it works.

Pretty straight forward. Remove the upper steering column cover, disconnect the switch connector, remove two bolts, remove the switch, install the new switch etc. No linkage to deal with as on earlier generations. It would appear the switch assembly is the only unit involved in turn signal canceling. That said, and he doesn't show it, I'm thinking there has to be a cam attached to the steering link that engages the switch somehow. Take a closer look and make sure it's in good shape.

Whoever is telling you this would have to explain it. I don't see any connection. The clockspring controls the drivers airbag, cruise control, and horn.

The mechanism that trips the turn signal lever is built into the bottom of the clockspring on the '01 thru '07 vans.

Here's an excerpt from a conversation on another minivan forum:
I replaced the "switch" (the lever) as noted above, and found that the turn signals still don't cancel. I took it apart again today, removed the lever and looked into the column to find that a white circular shaped piece of plastic, inside what appears to be a black switch housing on the coulumn, with two extended blocks that trip the lever are bent and broken. It looks like I'll have to replace the assembly on the column, which has a multi-connector electrical plug attached.
That white piece of plastic will be attached to the back of the clock spring. I had the same problem on my '01 and had to replace the clock spring to repair it. Pay attention to all the cautions about the air bags. Other than that, not a big deal to replace once the steering wheel is removed.

I took the switch off myself today and checked it all out and the mechanism that cancels it seems to be fine but still have the same problem. Seems like most of the time like at least %85 it will cancel on the right but left always cancels where it didn't with the old switch so just for the hell of it I put the old switch back and it is the same way it was where it doesn't cancel left at all so put the new one back and hope when I take for inspection it cancels OK. Hope they check the turn signals in the garage because always cancels sitting still no matter what I do.

"I'm thinking there has to be a cam attached to the steering link that engages the switch somehow" (post#5) Sure didn't picture the clockspring. The learning never stops on these forums. Thanks georgef.
