I usually would just mod the 3.3L instead of swapping, but our Voyager just ate it's trans and I can get a low mileage 3.8L van for a steal, so I'm thinking on just dropping the whole driveline in.

Problem, ours is a 95 Voyager, the donor is a 99 GC Sport. Is this going to be a simple swap my sensors to the newer motor, or will I have other things to watch out for as well?

'95 is an OBD1 engine, '99 is an OBD2 engine. So,
there would be a lot of sensors swapped,, ECM swapped, Wiring swapped. There would be much work involved, if it can be done.

 

So I've been playing with this the last couple days. The trans computer interchanges, as I was able to plug a 93 TCM into the 99 van and everything worked as it should. As far as engine, I intend on swapping my 3.3L's sensors to the 3.8L and running it off my ECM.

 

Got into tearing it down. The 99 3.8L ran an extra trans mount that my van doesn't have, so I ditched it and picked up one of the correct year to swap the trans.
