I had the engine light come on a week ago with the P0032 code. I parked it and borrowed someone's car to get to work. A coworker suggested it could be as simple as a loose gascap. I checked today, and sure enough, the last time I went for gas, the gasjockey hadn't screwed it back in all the way. So I reseated the cap today. How long will it take for me to know i that's the problem? The engine light is still on.

Are you sure that P0032 is the code you have?
A P0032 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following:
A short in the heater circuit in the sensor
A failed O2 sensor heater
Wiring/connectors broken/frayed leading to sensor and/or relay
Failed PCM/ECM
