Smile 02 Grand Caravan skip

my 02 Grand Caravan 3.8 L (84,000 mi) skips on startup for a few seconds and then clears out, it has a cylinder 03 Misfire code in it for the check engine light.
Also the gas mileage is TERRIBLE- 10 mpg or so.
Any insight on this? I figure it may need plugs but the skip clears out so I was thinking a leaking down injector?

ANYTHING that will help the mileage I am getting, its expensive to feed this thing with that type of mileage. Has new fuel pump and filter on it.

its a handicap conversion if that matters.

also which cylinder is #3 I am used to german cars...

For starters, fix whatever is causing the misfire code.

That's what I'm trying to figure out isn't it.

Putting new plugs in it, got the REl4PLP5's, we'll see what that does.

Replace wires as well. Also check for a sp wire off.

well the plugs didn't fix it, as the skip has returned. The wires all are installed correctly, so we have swapped the 3 and 4 cylinder wire to see if the problem follows, if it does we know its a wire issue.
