Default 99 caravan transmission problem

I have only owned this vehicle for about a month. While driving, when warm it would shirt hard, and downshift hard.
A couple of days ago,it started stopping while accelerating,I meen a dead stop.. If I put it in park, and go to take off again,it would take off, only to about 10mph,and stop again....like slamming on the brakes stopping.
No codes set,and I am at a loss and really need to get this van back on the road...losing alot of jobs due to not being able to drive. I am on a very limited budget, and have access to a tranny out of an 02 sebring, but not sure if it will work or not.
I would also like to know what the problem might be in case it is an easy fix.
Could it possibly just be the shift solenoid ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Thank you in advance...

I also have read that the wires in the main harness sometimes short out, where there are 3 wires spliced together. I did look at that, and see a few wires where 3 are spliced together, but did not do any testing there yet. There were 3 black spliced, and 3 orange spliced. I heard that they sometime corrode and cause problems.

Could possibly be no one has had this problem? Take it to a shop if you need immediate gratification.

If you took it to the dealer no wonder you needed a new transmission. They fix nothing. Replacing is the dealer way.
