Misfire, changed plug, coil. what's next?
Hi all,
My 2012 Grand Caravan is giving me an engine code indicating cylinder 5 misfires.
What I have tried:
1. used fuel injector cleaner
2. Changed all spark plugs
3. Changed all the ignition coils.
I can tell the car is running smoother, but it's still giving me the same error code.
I'm not a mechanic or expert. All the things I have done so far is based on my past experience with other cars or learned from youtube
I have no idea what to do next. Can anyone help provide a direction?
thanks

I would try switching the spark plug, coil and injector to different cylinders. Like the spark plug to number 1 cylinder, Coil to number 2 and the injector to number 4 cylinder. Wrote down which cylinders you did what. Run the engine and see if the misfire follows one of the parts you switch. If you still have the same code. Then I would inspect the camshaft rocker.

I took it apart to switch things around and I got lucky, the Champion spark plug in the misfiring cylinder was bad. The ceramic came loose from the metal shell, I replaced all plugs with another brand as I have lost faith with Champion. Van now runs like new, no check engine light.
I replaced the plugs at 100,000 miles and the new set had only been another 60,000 before the plug gave up, I really did not expect that.
