Smile Looking for Pads and Rotor Recommendation. 2014 Grand Caravan

I just purchased a 2014 SXT and I want to replace the front rotors (maybe the back also) along with all 4 brake pads. Been doing some searching and cant find a definite answer. Some people say slotted, others say no. Some say ceramic pads, other say no way. I know that the brake system is a major issue on these vehicles, so I want recommendation something that would work best for them. Thanks in advanced!

I replaced the rotors and pads on my van I went with Raybestos Element 3.
Raybestos Element 3 pads are hybrid pad made with the best of both ceramic and semi-metallic attributes in one pad.
Raybestos Element 3 coated rotors for long lasting rust protection and optimal cooling with smooth braking.

These pads and rotors are very quiet with maximum smooth stopping power the pads produce very little dust I would definitely buy these pads and rotors again very impressed with their performance.

Middle of the road parts from your local auto parts store.

Sure could of bought Brembo or Akebono brake parts which would've been a waste of money. We're just driving Dodge Grand Caravan not exactly your run of the mill High Performance vehicle. These brakes parts are way better than the OEM that ever came with the van I really like the Raybestos and happy with both the product and the price.

I was super impressed by Bosch Quiet Cast. They are very cheap on Amazon, $48 front, $37 rear for my 2018. I haven't messed with rotors since like 2005 so I don't have a recommendation. If you lube the pins, bolts, shims front and back, and any other contact area except for the braking surface then you will not have uneven wear on your rotors or any noise except when your van sits in rain for days unmoved.

Any car parts stores that carries the Raybestos brand brake parts I got mine on line from RockAuto cheapest place I found, they have a rotor and pad kit listed which is cheaper than buying pads and rotors separately. I live where they use a lot of roadsalt in the winter so I got the coated rotors for rust protection.
Pad and Rotor Kit number from RockAuto
Front 1589H780964E3
Rear 1596H780965E3

RockAuto is a good place to start when shopping for parts. They have a large variety of parts in a catalog that is pretty easy to use. The parts are also sorted into categories like "Economy", "Daily Driver", Premium", "Heavy Duty" etc. For brake pads and rotors I would stay away from the "Economy" section.

You will see the Raybestos pads and rotors there. I would also look at the PowerStop hybrid pads and coated rotors. Wagner severe duty pads are also very good, but these are semi-metalic. They will stop better than most anything but don't last as long and can be noisy. These would go with the Wagner E-coated "black hat" rotors. It is important to match your pads and rotors. The metal composition of the rotors is designed to work well with the composition of the pads, both for performance and durability. This is one of the things that makes a kit a good idea.

I would also look at replacing the caliper slide pins, bolts, boots, and bushings. At RockAuto, the slide pin kits (pins and bolts) only cost about $4 per wheel. The boots and bushings are about the same. Some brake pad kits come with new boots and bushings as well as new slippers, so check that you as you decide.

I spend a few minutes with a wire brush wheel on a drill to clean up the calipers and caliper mounting brackets. You would be surprised how well they can clean up. It's also a good idea to use the brush wheel on the front of the hub to remove any obvious rust and the put a little anti-seize on the hub before the new rotor. Just keep it off of the rotor and the wheel studs.

What I like about the Raybestos EHT pads is that they are GG rated.

Most pads on the market are FF rated.

If you look at DOT brake pad friction coefficient only approved Racing Pads have a higher rating at HH.

These brake pads will have hardly any brake fade if any under heavy braking.

Many Police Force use Raybestos brakes on their cars because of there excellent stopping power and longievity.

Raybestos brake pads and rotors are also not expensive given their quality. They are in the mid price-range for the more premium brands and models. There are certainly much cheaper pads, but these are your brakes, not the place to cut corners.
