[4th Gen : 01-07]: P0601 PCM Checksum error
Replaced The PCM with a pre Flashed AutoZone unit.. The reason was the voltage regulator was only telling the alternator to kick out 11.5 volts.
When I installed it, I was still getting the battery light and 11.5V. Apparently the voltage regulator also fried the alternator. The battery was weak until I put in a new alternator. 14.0 volts. When when battery was recharged, the PCM P0601 and a P1495 code came up. I think because the battery was low at first it might have had some wrong codes. 5 days later still have same codes even after clearing them. The car runs fine except for the check engine light. This would not be a problem except I live in CA. So you can't even get it smogged here. Any ideas would help and greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays everyone.

First try to have the dealer to re-flash the module and if that doesn't work, You need to replace the module with a reman. Don't get one out of another vehicle. Because the vehicle VIN maybe burn into the controller.
