2017 Grand Caravan. Battery hooked up backwards. Need Help
Now before everyone gives me too much of a hard time, and say to pull my man card or what not, I know what I did was incredibly stupid. I don’t need to be reminded, trust me, my wife will let me know.
Battery was hooked up backwards. Smoke came from the alternator area but I don’t believe it came from the alternator directly. The only fuse that was blown under the hood was the fuse for the radio/nav. Replaced it and it’s fine.
The remaining issues:
AC blows hot. Used one of the measuring meters on a refill can and it is showing the PSI way up in the red. Like overcharged.
Power doors and tailgate will only operate with the remote sometimes. They will always operate when the van is on but only sometimes remotely when its off.
Remote start no longer working.
Outside of that it starts fine, runs fine.
Any ideas on what I can look into from here?

Is the a/c clutch kicking in the the a/c is turned on? If not, then the low side pressure will be high until the compressor is running. As for the other issues, you may have burnt something in the power distribution box under the hood. (fuse/relay box). You might want to pull it out and check the bottom for anything burnt on it. I'm not sure what else in the alternator area would have smoked, except the alternator or the regulator part of it. The a/c clutch is the only other thing that I can think of in that area. Perhaps it melted a wire going to the clutch on the compressor.
