Default Replacing lifters 2011 Dodge grand Caravan

Most of the information I see about the camshaft suggests that when a lifter goes bad, it wears the outer edges of a cam lobe. If a new lifter with a new bearing rides on the center of the cam lobe, why would I worry about the edges being worn on a cam lobe, why couldn’t I just replace the lifters and leave the cam alone?

no not really, but I’m thinking all new lifters will ride on the centers of the cam lobes and the outer edges of the cam lobes being worn, won’t matter. The new roller bearings on the new rockers will make contact with the unworn portion of the cam. Providing there was total failure of the bearing.
