So I've replaced the cam and crank sensors in my ,99 Grand caravan but I'm still getting p1391 code now the van is skipping or misfiring can't tell. Where would you go next?

What brand sensors? If you got the cheap duralast fellers, they are quite likely contributors to the problem.

I know when I replaced my Crank & Cam sensors, there was a paper gauge attached (lightly glued, like a post-it note but thicker) to the end of each sensor to set the air gaps correctly. Were these paper gauges in place when you put the sensors in?
maybe if the gap is too large, the sensors are not generating a clean signal to the PCM.
(So you might want to recheck the air gaps.. not likely but just checking)
