Manual tranny?
Allpar has some info on the jeep 3.8
http://www.allpar.com/mopar/38-40.html
I was right- people were assuming that it would be a 6 speed stick.
NOPE, its a 6 speed automatic based on the A604.
How disappointing...
But perhaps the jeeps with 3.8s will generate an interest in an aftermarket trans alternative.
I cant help but wonder if the jeep 3.8 will be transversely or longitudally mounted.

Interesting, it looks like we are going to have to wait and see.
If it is really based off of an A604 I would be willing to bet its a "automatic with a better autostick" like what the Prowler had using the A606

Greetings everyone...
Actually there is a manual transmission that will fit the 3.3/3.8L. Get the manual transmission from the 01/02/03 Dodge Stratus Sedan with the 2.7L. The 2.7 has the same transmounting as the 3.3 and 3.8. I bought the transmission and the flywheel from a trashed 01 Stratus and am in process of putting it in a 95 GC. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

yeah seriously, the people demand pics!
i'm soon to yank a motor, if i can shove a manual in there i wanna do it now!!! i'm sick of dealing with this torque converter
quick thought, the new 07 vans come with a 6speed supposivly based off of the 41te, now one ponders the thought if one of these can be retrofitted to run with OBD 1, them shorter gears would really help acceleration

WHY? For that kind of money you can buy another van.
The more I read, the more I regret buying this 99 Caravan. If it ever comes to the point of a SECOND transmission failing, I'm going back to import.
have you worked on a newer van??? plus i don't feel the build quality is as good
i love mine, i have to many memories, & beating people with an old caravan is fun, plus they look better, lol

Yes!!! This thread needs pictures! This is exciting news as I hate slushes too. dspan0912 what are you using for clutch pedal/linkage/shifter. If this works, I am soooo looking for that tranny.
