Default blowing......not

blowing (Post #1)
Hey everyone,
I hope someone can answer my question/problem:
My blower doesn't work on speeds 1-3, but works on 4. Here's what happened, one time I got in, it was blazing hot so I turned the air conditioner on and put the fan right to high. It then went dead, and decided to come back on in about 15 mins. Last week, I shut the van off to go into a store, but forgot to turn the air off and the blower was on either 2 or 3. Well, it hasn't worked since. I replaced the fuse, no dice. Looked under the hood, tapped the fan, still nothing. Actually, I'm not even sure where the blower is! Thanks in advance!

Hot in NY,
Lance

with a multimeter (electrical measuring tool) a wiring diagram and a shop manual you could have a pretty good idea what is wrong.

chances are pretty good its the blower resistor block.

my bet is the blower motor resistor. it defaults to high speed when worn.
if your talking the front blower its under/behind the glove box

so is the resistor block the most common cause for it only working on high?
does this also apply to a 1997 GR caravan with the 3.8?
