I bought mine with 92000 and now is 135000 and run without big problems. the only problems that I had was the blower motor resistors, the serpentine belt tensor was bend, it help to break the timing belt. It cost me about $75 using the Haynes manual!!
I love my Caravan. It currently has 199,000 on it but from about 134,000 I started putting in a lot of money. Well just last month the transmission went out. But I love my Van so I invested another 4,000.00 it to it. I don't expect too many other things to go wrong. I figure the motor is next but am hoping I can get another 60,000 miles out of it first. I only buy Caravans. They are comfortable and fairly reliable as long as you take care of it.
Great question! This is my first Dodge, and overall I am very pleased with the design. I am hoping that it holds together well with some better than average maintenance from me. I have a general belief that, overall, they must hold together well, or else people would not have made them the #1 seller in their class. I also think that there are so many fleet use of these vans, that some of the problems reported are from maintenance neglect, and rental driver abuse. And that has to drive down the resale value of the entire line.
There is always something that I am working on next to improve it. Tomorrow will replace the headlight housings with some that I have picked up on Ebay for fairly cheap ($15), as the original (2001) was showing alot of wear on the top 1/2 inch of the headlight. Keeping an eye on the waterpump, noticed a small leak. The driver's side window stayed down once, and required a tug on the window at the same time you pulled on the switch.
Myself, I am going with an oil change every 5k. Using Valvoline HM and Mobil1 oil filter.

Mine is a 99 w\110000 on it and other tha the tune up and maintenance only the ac blower had problems. One other thing theradiator went on it and was a huge mess cause the tranny fluid went into the cooling system. Flushed it out about 4 times, replaced the radiator cap and hoses and works just fine.Nothing happened to the tranny.TG
Depends on which engine you are talking about. If you are refering to the original Caravans you can get about 60k out of the 2.6L Mitsubishi. The 2.2L or 2.5L NA versions will at least last 125k. The newer 2.4L will probably not last too much longer than 100k without needing some serious repairs.
The 3.0L is potluck. Either you love it and swear by it, or you hate it and swear AT it. I've never seen a 3.0L Mitsubishi that has impressed me yet, but I'm sure there are some good ones out there; otherwise, it wouldn't have a fan base.
The 3.3L/3.8L will last the life of the vehicle from what I have observed. Keep fresh transmission fluid Chrysler ATF+3 or +4 depending on the year in the tranny and it should last around 150,000-200,000 miles if not longer. Minivans in general no matter what brand don't have a very long life with their transmissions.
