Wife had ac/comp replaced Fri.(works great) 1/4 mile from house she called and said CHECK ENGINE LIGHT came on after a loud POP under hood. I happen to be in drive watering plants when she drove up opened hood and flames were comming from rear of motor(can't see) so I hit it with a quick shot of water.Futher inspection (w/mirror)I found spark plug wire was burning, and melted OXYGEN SENSER wires.Sat morning bought new wire set replaced only the flamed one and cranked right up.Told wife take for regular tuneup on Monday and let them install rest of wires I had bought. Idiot I am I decided to wash engine at car wash(high pressure)Seemed valve cover gasket had been leaking and thats what caused the fire. Engine died ,so I replacer CAP,ROTOR,COIL still no spark. Towed to mechanic and he TUNEDUP, Replaced OXYGEN SENSER, and spliced some of the melted wiring(minimal damage). So all is great except when the ignition is turned off there is 5 very faint beeps comming from around the emergency brake lever. No the loud beeps seat belt ect. You don't have to start van, just turn key to accessori and off and after a 3 to 5 second delay is when it beeps, so faint you can hardly hear it. Any input would be welcome! I have NEVER heard this since I bought the van new.
