If as we've seen, will you buy new Challenger?
The RHD (and diesel) 300's are built by Magna in Austria, not the Brampton Chrysler plant. I think they build the minivans and cherokee's there too, so they probably don't have the capacity for another car.
I will be buying one, no doubt about it. I spent the 90's in various 4th Gen Camaro's because Chrysler would only make RWD V8's in truck form. The Charger tempted me with the engine and RWD but an automatic and 4 doors? This is the car I want, build it.
This car is going into production this year mid summer.
I have a good friend whos the sales manager my names on the list at the top he said hell need my deposit by june 06 and will have the car by march 07 or sooner.FYI
6.1 litre is the base this car is not going to carry the string of engines down to a 6 .The only bump up will be to the 500hp 396ci srt. SRT will cost 42 -46k loaded nice with out tax.
Gotta pay to play these are big boys toys ...Plus you need a little more than some play station driving time and a year or teo on the road to get into one of these cars not to mention older+cheaper insurance...
Its a done deal .I own a hemi magnum awd and love it now it time for a car to park next to the c5 vette ,a daily driver so to speak, and the Challenger fits the bill .I owned 3 challengers and this is what ive been waiting for.
The car has Jeff Foose written all over it.
I assure you Ill have one asap ..
This car is a tribute to an era I live in none of this rice clown car crap .You dont rrealize what fools you look like with the can hanging off the back and the unfunctional wing spoliers.
Lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way whats up with you guys who drive clown cars like neons knocking this car jealous.
So step off the bashing its non productive to seeing this car being as reality .
DUDE YOU DRIVE A PEE-ON!! LOL.. And will be paying on it till your 35 ..LOL.
Dont have to like everything, funny you may learn some day youll grow to accept things and thay turn out better than expected.
BTW the console is slanted for your arm to rest and work the stick its no optical illusion..Ive owned 3 Challys and the center console being flat made it unusable only for beer can and cell phones,i like the slanted arm rest for the drive very cool Id like to see paddle shift in the SRT too..

I can't wait to see that info confirmed.
I dunno, if you are speaking of me, about bashing the Challenger and me having a "Peon". I wasn't bashing the Challenger at all, more like sharing thoughts about what could make it even better. I would think calling my car a Peon, clown car and saying I'll be paying on it til I'm 35, is more of bashing. This is what I can afford after losing my Intrepid, so step off. Oh yeah, my Neon is paid off too, so I won't be paying on it til I'm 35.
If it is indeed me, you are talking about. You have completely misunderstood and did not comprehend what i was saying.

I'd definately buy one, but I'm still waiting for a sleeker/lighter coupe...

I don't understand why these threads always head down the import bashing route. I love American cars, especially the new Charger and hopefully the Challenger, but that didn't stop my 2002 Subaru WRX from humiliating yahoo's in their hemi ram pickup trucks with their NASCAR "god needed a driver" crap all over their rear windows. Don't even get me started on guys who, God forbid, thought their tarted up Monte Carlo was some kind of performance machine.
Sure, a good percentage of your big winged coffee can equiped cars are fakers, just like muscle cars in the mid 70's with wild stripes, go wings, vents and smogged out, 180 hp 318's under the hood, all image. And the ones that aren't, you better get to know them, Subaru WRX, Mitsubishi Evolution, Infiniti G35 coupe etc. etc.

i worked as an accountant for a dealership, and the fact that a sales manager said it, makes me doubt it even more...if they start that soon, it would be great, but all of the magazines have reported much later...we will simply have to wait and see..
Kowalskii, coming here bashing a moderator, (who didnt talk down to the challenger, he simply said that he would like it to be sleeker and lighter), is ridiculous...you drive a station wagon and a poorvette, not a ferrari, so save us the lecture about driving high performance cars...i like the magnum alot, but someone driving a station wagon making fun of someone who drives a neon is like a minivan owner making fun of a full size van owner..so relax a bit. i know that my DD stratus is no screamer, but my mirada is...before you go spouting off on me...
who is jeff foose? did you mean chip foose?
also, 396ci? did you mean 392ci? every report that i have seen (although im not an authority..I dont know any mighty sales managers) had quoted a 6.4L..roughly 61.25 cubic inches per liter...brings it to 392 cubic inches...
