If as we've seen, will you buy new Challenger?
Personally, I will be dissapointed if the 6.1 is over $30k. I'm about 2 years off from paying off my truck, so if this car really does come out in 08 I will be looking hard at it. Unless gm brings back a nice/powerful version of the camaro or the gto is still alive by then, the challenger will be my only choice.
Thanks folks for all the replies to the poll, looking good and hopefully DC is paying attention. If you did not see the Wall Street Journal article, it said the Challenger and Camaro stole the show, nice endorsement!
To me really simple. I was too young to buy the first round of hemi Challengers. Man, how often do you get a second shot!!!
Build it...fast!

but when pricing a vehicle, you not only want it to physically be in the same class, but you want it to be priced competitively, as well...
but i also have my doubts...[:@]

I'm really hoping it will be competitive in price with mustang, which after the initial inflation due to rediculous amounts of people flocking to them, is $25k for the base GT and $27k for the Premium version. A price tag of $38k would put it in the cobra category, for the RT. Just doesn't seem reasonable to me.

The RHD (and diesel) 300's are built by Magna in Austria, not the Brampton Chrysler plant. I think they build the minivans and cherokee's there too, so they probably don't have the capacity for another car.

Yes i understand but you can't blame me for wanting the Charger in Australia. I have showed so many people the charger, magnum and now challenger concept on net and they keep asking me me are they coming this way. All have said they will sell well here.

CF body It will not be under 30K...
Insurance will be a fright for deductable also.
I do love the Car and would buy one like 71 said unless I have to sell my 71 RR.
Wife loves it...
Are any of the panels on SRT8 Chrgers CF, I think Vipers are CF but they get what 75K for them right?

The Mustang GT and premium GT are no where near the R/T. You get those for 25-27k, because that's what they are worth. The Challenger is worth more than 30k. I wouldn't want Dodge to sell it for 25k anyway, because I want them to make a profit, so they keep making them. If you get the R/T for 30-35k, it's a great deal!
The R/T is in the Cobra category, seems reasonable to me...
Also need to consider where the Camaro will be priced? Neither GM nor DC is going to want to make this investment and still "miss" the Stang crowd.
Who would have thought even 3 years ago you'd be able to choose from a Charger, GTO, Camaro, Challenger, or Mustang...once again. Pretty cool!
