How does your manager have 3.55 gears? I thought the only axle-ratio the Ram had was the 3.92. Is her's a 1500 model?

I understand, I also like to dream. I don't know if GM is really going to put something at the same level or better in the Camaro as they have in the Corvette. That would threaten the Corvette's sales. If we get 505hp, I think we will be fine. According to the reports on the 6.1L in the Challenger, it sounds like the 6.1L will be pretty even with the GT500 despite the difference between hp & tq numbers.

no, the standard gears in the 1500 are 3.55s the 3.92s are an option for a little extra ca$h.

i havent heard any reports about the 6.1 in the challenger but i think the mustang weighs less i heard the challenger was supposed to be like 4k lbs or something. thats a pretty heavy car. i hope they offer an option for some low low gears like 4.10s or lower for racers, and like 3.73s for a good all around gear.

This tells about a the acceleration speculative times. They are similar to the GT500s. This is with the 6.1L.

yes but that is with a 425 hp engine compared to a 345 or 245 depending on which engine you have in your ram. i was saving my money for a power wagon but now might be saving my money for a challenger as it would actually be a little cheaper (power wagon is 41k, challneger with the 5.7 hemi is supposed to be around the same price as the charger R/T which is like 34 i think).

I believe the fuel mileage ratings are based off of the other SRT-8s which don't have a manual transmission. The W5A580 has very short gearing which really hurts the fuel mileage. One of the reasons why the Corvette gets as good fuel mileage as it does is because it has tall gearing.

corvettes and camaros also get good mileage because there light not only becuase or there gearing.
The challengers on pretty much the same frame as the 300... its not a light car
at 4100 lbs, thats about 800 or 900 lbs more than the corvette. So, even with tall gearing, it wont get the same mileage. 97 3.5 Intrepid Date 9/7/2006 11:15:13 PM

Maybe but there is a flaw in your argument. The weight difference between the Magnum and the Stratus is 1030 lbs, yet the 2.7L gets equal fuel mileage in the EPA ratings. They both have roughly the same gearing and both are rated at 21/28 city/highway.

good point, ive never heard that before. Evidently, you know your Dodge lineup! Do u know why that works? In most cars weight is a big deal. A truck loaded down gets worse than empty??? right?? why the exeption??
