All the info here is good~prices would right around the "Charger" SRT,(My guess)this is another platform already being produced by Benz(Charger and others are), Being that the Challenger "Concept" is working on the past looks and style I would expect that the prices well run a little higher as it is a "Concept" to "Production" car. I have read that it maybe a limited run number Vehicle, which well make the price stupid high!!!(Prowler/Viper as an example). Guess we well ALL have to wait and see~also~Auto-stick for an addition 4 grand seems a little out of reach for most of us working class folks. Does anyone concere with this thinking?

It's my understanding that "any"manual tranny are NOT allowed in vehicles with a V8,unless it is specialty type auto with a larger tax attached, 4 and 6's are fine according to the EPA~if there is anyone out there that can find a car with a "standard" let me know! Vipers and exotic's are the only one's I know of~

I believe the 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (5.4L V8) is being produced exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Mustang GT "Deluxe" (4.6L V8) also comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, and a 5-speed automatic optional.
I also believe the base model Chevrolet Corvette (6.0L V8) comes standard with a 6-speed manual, with the automatic transmission a $1,250.00 add-on.
Currently, Chevrolet lists the tentative specs on the 2009 Camaro with the LS2 6.0L V8 hooked up to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The 2006 Pontiac GTO has a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission available with a 3.46:1 Dana limited-slip differential on it's 6.0L Gen IV LS2 V8 powerplant.

This IS the market that DCX is targeting with the Challenger, right?

There's no rule against a stick shift in a car with a big engine, and the EPA woudn't care because manuals have typically given higher mileage (because of less driveline loss and a larger number of gears, although the new 7 and 8 speed autos are negating that advantage)

anything can happen with these gas prices and with dealer mark-ups, but i dont see why you shouldn't walk out the door with one from the base price 24 'ish. to the full blown daddy runnin' about 38 - 40. lookin at the chargers price, it has too big a variance. a lot of options that the challenger wont have due to limited production. the challenger will have the "all or nothing" steps to it from one model to the next.

"the viper is a very rare super car it will be alot easier to spot one of those going down the road than a challenger "
Maybe a Charger, but the Challenger should be pretty distinctive from other cars on the road.
