Looking for advice before buying
I'd go ahead and get that operation you've been thinking of... LOL. Just kidding.
Wow. That's a loaded question... For me, I wanted to go with the newer technology, so you may not like my answer. I'd sell the Mustang and Harley and take my 3k as a downpayment for a new Charger. Really. UNLESS you really, really, really, want to have the headaches of old machinary (and I've had them with my old cars), why not look at the SRT8 or Plum Crazy Charger? New. Fast enough. And on warranty. Just put fuel in them and drive them! But, I'm old enough, I've been through all the old iron...
I'm sure a lover of the old iron will argue with that, but dollar for dollar, you'll be money ahead.

I Already have a nice daily driver in an Infiniti fx35. i want t a toy and as you know i have to toys right now with the mustang and harley. i need something to tinker with. thanks for the advise but i would rather put the money into the new challenger that comes out in 08
Everyone, thanks again for the advice. We didn't get the used one, but we did buy a new one.
We got the steel blue metallic R/T. Fully loaded. Nav, dvd, sunroof, driver info center, side airbags, self sealing tires, heated power seats, the works. With the company discount and rebates it was to good of a deal to pass up.
The only thing we need to add is an exhaust (any good suggestions?), and a spoiler (the wife really likes the look and wants one (again where would be the best place to get one?) and I will probably get the cold air intake.
We only have 200 miles on it but are averaging 17.9 mpg. Much better than the 15.5 and 11.7 (with flex fuel) that we were getting in the Yukon.

Bigfoot,
Exhaust is a real personal thing -- some like it LOUD and Proud, and guys like me, like it quieter, especially on trips. Everyone has opinions on that subject. Often the exhaust sounds fine until the MDS kicks in and the drone makes you want to sell the car...
Check around Ebay or I'm sure someone will chime in on where to get a CAI or wing. I bought my CAI on Ebay for around $250: a K&N 63 series. I also chipped my up with a Jet 2 chip, but I must burn 91 for it to work, andfrom what I can tell, it certainly doesn't turn it into a 6.1.I get 25+ MPG on the road with a three passengers and a loaded trunk. Yeah, Flexfuel is a nice way to go, but it doesn't have the MPG power (BTU ratings) that gasoline has, although it does have 105 octane for performance. But it is still better to keep our farmers in the fields than tokeep making third world countries rich. We just need to get more service stations selling it.
Enjoy your Charger!
