Lesson Learned...
Gunner,
Sounds like if it is in a salvage yard, the insurance company totalled it. It isn't a place for the faint of heart -- cars are just chunks of metal to them.
I'd call the insurance company about what's going on. Usually, if it is damaged and not totalled, it is at a auto repair shop lot to be repaired.
After the fork lift incident the doors probably won't fit the same, the body is probably out of alignment, etc. I'd take the money and put it towards a different car and walk away.
Look at it this way: maybe your buddy did you a "favor" and there is something else out there that has your name on it
.
Good luck and let us know.

Good an bad news,
Today i heard back from the adjusting company and they are fixing my car.... It was about 10G's away from totaling it out. Upon further review the adjusting company found that the block was unharmed and did not have to be replaced. The whole front end is getting replaced with OEM parts and should be as good a new aswell as the exhaust system. I should have my car back in about 2.5weeks.
I also got my car from enterprise this afternoon and they were suppose to give me a Ford Fusion (Standard Size) but they upgraded me at no cost due to a booking error to a (Full Size)2007 Dodge Charger White in color. I was unaware that they offer a 4 cylinder in these things but OMG i feel like i have to get behind this thing and push it....

If you got the cash now is the time to talk to the repair shop about upgrading some body parts. It will ba alot cheaper now then ever. It might actually be cheaper then fixing it with OEM parts so it might leave money for CAI.
I got my car back this afternoon i cannot tell you how nice it is to have her back. However it was short lived since i have to return her tomorrow to fix the fenders because when i opened the hood it cought the edges and chipped/bent them. Sigh this seems like it will never end
Gunner,
I'd check it all -- tire pressure, if clean oil and new filter, air cleaner not full of dust/paint dust, all belts tight, fluids up (especially brake fluid), and all electrical -- tried those wipers yet? Maybe try resetting your system by disconnecting the battery and waiting a bit to reconnect it to reset the motherboard (ECU). Well, just suggestions. Might as well get the basics out of the way -- sometimes even a good mechanic can miss something.
Good luck.
