Charger vs New Corvette
Had and impromptu race with a new corvette from 25 mph to about 95, sorry guys I lost but only by one car length and I had three 200 lbs plusadults in my Daytona and Vette guy was alone. I think he was shocked he couldn't get far enough by me to safely pull in front. I have a superchip and kn cold air kit, otherwise it's stock.

Actually he got the jump on me came from behind and I didn't see him coming until he already had a run on me. From a dead stop, I agree he would have killed me, but these chargers pull hard when you get them going. My Dad has a SRT-10 and I don't think it has any more stuff from 50mph on up than my Daytona. IMHO.
What year vette was it? The new Vettes are 1300 lbs lighter than a Daytona and have a few more ponies. I would say you were lucky, or you just out drove him. It looks like it was your day! I will have to admit it feels good to outrun a worthy competitor.
It was the newest body style, and I did lose, just not by as much as I thought I would, I know they are lighter and more hp. Like I said if it was from a dead stop he would have ate my lunch big time. Maybe he had a brick under his go pedal.
Well I will be able to tell you definitely who would win. Hubby just traded in his 06 Daytona (TorRed) for an 07 corvette (red, of course). I drove the vette and I own an 06 Daytona myself (Top Banana) and without a doubt the vette would eat my lunch. However, we are comparing apples with oranges - these are two totally different vehicles - one is a muscle car with a lot of weight and the other is a sports car with much less weight, not to mention how low it sits to the ground.
In my world, both cars are equally impressive!

I had a go with a new Accord V-6 on the way home last week. He came screaming up beside me - I was doing 80. Suddenly, he hit it, so I hit it. I had my air on, he probably did too. I gotta say - those new Accord V-6s run pretty darned good! At about 100 I finally started reeling him in, but it was a hard pull for the 'ol Charger. He jumped me, and when I hit it, I pulled even as far as speed, but it took a bit for the Charger to start pulling hard and close the gap.
