Default Mods and mpgs

Hello,

What kind of mpgs are you gents with mods getting? I'm running about 40,000 miles a year. I just traded a 3.5 magnum in on the Charger hemi for the lifetime deal. My first trip from El Paso to Colorado Spring averaged 23.66 hand calculated running 80-85 mph. I average 22 coming back loaded into a headwind but I cranked her up to 90-110 every now and then just playing. I'm not getting anything near that in town, I'm still grinning at the V8 rumble I didn't have with the 3.5.

The mods haven't changed the MGP much at all. It all depend on my driving style.

If I'm romping around in town the gas milage will be around 16 mpg, if I'm not driving crazy then it's around 18 mpg.

I took a 650+ mile road trip recently and got 24.5 mpg at 70-75 mph.

<edit> I have to qualify that I'm running MDS and plan on keeping it.

Thanks Mango,

That's good to know. I'm thinking possible CAI and a good exhaust loosing the suitcase and resonators. I just don't want to go backwards on the mpgs.

Mango, are you doing hand calcs or evic?

I have a heavy foot, but this will be my wife's ride. Her foot is heavier. She's running my Cummins while I set this one up. She averaged 14 mpg in my diesel running empty..that's hard to do. She must have been blowing black smoke all the way back to San Antonio. At least the cylinders oughta be cleaned. That's with a fresh oil change and fuel filter.Update: After further investigation it appears she was getting closer to 18 mpg in the dually, she doesn't hand calc anything, it was in metric mode.
