Default 1/4 time slips on a stock 07 HEMI R/T Charger ?

Just wondering if anyone out there knows what a stock R/T Charger will run in the 1/4 mile. Manager at work here has a newer GTO with the 5.7 V8 and I was wondering how much faster he is then me. I know they are close in HP but I'm almost positive his car weighs a lot less then my Charger and lets face it, weight makes a big difference.

Stock an R/T will run mid to low 14s.

Your right we're pigs compared to a GTO weight Does the GTO have a 5.7 or 6.0?

<edit> Just saw... it's a 5.7. It should be a good race, go for it.

I was talking with him and he said it had 400hp. that didn't sound right to me, if its an LS1 it would be only around 340. Even the corvette motor (not the ZO6) didn't have 400hp ?

I think your right, his 5.7 LS1 should be around 340-350HP stock. Those LS1s arekiller motors and respond well to mods.

tell me about it. I used to have a 98 Trans Am before the hurricane hit (I live in New Orleans) and after intake, exhaust, rear end gears and hypertech reprogramming, My Trans Am ran high 12's in the 1/4mile. It was a beast. Enough torque to pull the front tires a few inches off the ground. Damn I miss that car.

Really saw a guy last week in a charger run a 11.9 at 119mph. Basic bolt-on's headers, intake, a superchip, exhaust, and here is the main ingredient a 150shot of nitrous, and also 265 slicks on the rear. But right at the end of the 1/4 he said his intake got cooked and he also he is never going to run a 150shot again just wanted to do it once.

The full numbers are on the web.Search "Motor Trend SRT / GTO Shootout"

Bad news. The GTO is packing a 6.0 400 hp LS2 V8. SRT8 Chargervs GTO, here's the numbers.

0-60: GTO-4.7 sec / SRT8-5.0 sec

0-100: GTO-11.7 sec / SRT8-11.9 sec

1/4 MILE: GTO-13.3 sec @ 105.9 mph / SRT8-13.5 sec @ 106.5mph

Size & weight: GTO-189.9 inch @ 3777 lbs / SRT8-200.1inch @ 4266 lbs

Did better in the braking, handling & styling.

Since the 6.1 SRT8 is a good match for the 6.0 GTO I bet the5.7 Charger is fairly matched against a 5.7 GTO.
