Default Painting Front Crosshair

I have an 06Charger RT. I'm thinking about painting the front chrome crosshair black, like the daytona. Anyone know how to go about this correctly?

Well you could buy one that way if you change your mind you can go back, but if you wanna paint it i would suggest sanding it down with wet sand paper around 600 grit or above....wash it, hang it, paint it,

mmm, prices i dont know might wanna take a look at ebay, might be able to get a reasonable one there. As far as paint i dont do alot of spray bombing, i usually paint with a spray gun. What spray paint i have used that i liked is SEM. It gives you a nice flat black look. Im thinking any automotive grade spray would be ok, Its all in the prep work, if its prepped right the paint will look nice.

Gotta get all the shine off or it will flake...as stated above preperation is the key.

Would a primer thatpromotes paint adhesion be recommended?

Also, remember this is plastic... get paint made for plastic.

If it is sanded well enough you shouldnt but if you wanna be safer than sorry, they do make a product called "Bulldog" and it is a plastic adhesion promoter. you can spray it before you put the paint on.

The cheaper??? and easier way to go is to check on ebay. I've seen them on there for $30'ish bucks. Plus that way you can get the honey comb grill as opposed to the slats that are in the regular grill, then you can get the R/T emblem and put it on there! The Daytona grill with the emblem looks SOOOOOO much better than the stock R/T grill. Do it.
