Default Mod 1,2,3

The first Mod I did was immediately placed a K&N FIPK. Had to wait for the updated Superchip 3825. Programmed that into the car. Then I recently put on the Borla 140122. I pulled the fuses 11,14,16 and rest Hal. I use the turn key to rid ESP. Pulling fuse 17 was not for my car at all.

My questions are:

Should or would it help to reload/reprogram the Superchip now? Will it make a difference?
I was confused about the torque question. Pulling boats for years with a truck, the question about decreasing the torque seams opposite to what the ultimate goal is. How did most ppl program the SC?

Thanks
Scott

The option your looking at is reducetorque management not torque.

Torque management influences shift points, throttle position & timing. You may have the car at WOT and the PCM looks at the throttle position, speed and rpms and only allows 70% throttle (<= just an example) the car may feel like it’s falling on its face. This is DCXs brain child called torque management.

Ok I feel like a moron. I understand the words you used. WOT (Wide Open Throttle) and PCM - Power Train Control Module.

When it gives me the option of reducing torque management. What gives me a better hole shot? I ask several ppl some are even ASE 5 mechanics and I get all different answers. The question is confusing to me.

I feel like the SC can give me more even though I do need change the plugs. Now I am told to look at the fly throttle wire.????

Your no moron, far from it, this is a new environment and it takes a little time to get into the swing of things [sm=smiley20.gif]

Defiantly reduce the TQ mgmt, that way it will not interfere with abnormal driving habits

I haven't seen or found any tweaks for the fly by wire yet. My 03 RAM Hemi had the first DCX fly by wire and there was play in the receivers cable. A person could use a tire wrap to take the slop out of the cable and drastically improve throttle response.

<edit> fly by wire... there isn't a cable going from the gas peddle to the throttle plate. It's electronic and wireless.

Appreciate the assistance. I will get to programming. I was unsure. I was not aware of this forum for the first year of my purchase. I somehow stumbled upon it. It is great. All I know is right now I am having lowRPM response issues. All it might be is that I need to clean some of the crapout of the CAI filter. I just popped the hood toverify the fuse line-up and it has some crap in it.

Nonetheless, thanks for the help. Waiting on the cool weather and I'm sure it will run better and I will reduce the TQ mgmt.

I couldnt tell a difference when I played around with the Torque managment so I left it alone.

It actually felt better with out changing any programming.

Did I do something wrong?

I agree with your BigBanana... I am going to test my car in a few days on a dyno and see what the results are from using that Tuner... Its great for changing the speedo and tire sizes. I still have not tested my top speed after setting it to 170. I got to 140 with no problem and ran out of room. I hot the brakes to slow down and it scared me, the stock ones are garbage so I replaced the pads and rotors... Perfect I will try again late one night...
