Shakes
I find it amazing - I already noted that I had to change the rear brakes. - The car was shaking at 80 mph and stopping at 45 or over. Both the front and back rotors on the driver's side had terrible hot spots. Had them turned and back into a smooth ride.

I have an '06 R/T that had to have the front rotors done at around 30K. Right now I have a shake at 70 - 75. I had the front tires balanced and an alignment done but she still shakes. Any thoughts on that?
For my issue. The shaking at 80 plus was due to the rear rotors. I had them turned and thenthe speedshake ended. The stopping was due to the front rotors.
So I would suggest pulling the rear rotors and spending the $20 bucks. It worked for me. Hopefully you didnt bend a rim. That could be the other issue. Balance rear tires and resurface the rear rotors. Try the easiest and cheapest thing first. Then look at your rims. A good shop will tell you if you hit a pot hole and bent the rim.

I am 99% certain that the shakes are due to the rotors and possibly a small bit due to the alignment. I did the rear rotors the other day. As stated earlier that completely fixed the speed issue. Got it over 100 mph with no problems. Saturday I put newYokohamas and then resurfaced the rotors. Today at lunch,I justgot a wheel alignment.
BTW I hate the OEM Michelins and love the Yokohamas.

In my opinion stock rotors are garbage. I got cracking in mine and wobble at high speeds. I replaced them with EBC rotors and EBC redstuff pads. Much better and the breaking is greatly improved. I bet there are other aftermarket rotors that are much better quality than the stock ones. I have had no problem at all with the rears and do not plan on changing them soon but when I do will probably be more EBC. I just do not know if you can turn the EBC rotors with the vents... this would suck because they are not cheap!
I had the shakes BAD then I applied the brakes. Got so bad that it almost jerked the steering wheel outta my hand. Called and the warranty is only to 12,000. I had just hit 12K but they took care of my rotor's for me. They said they were warped. I find that hard to believe with just 12,000 miles on the vehicle. But hey as long as they fix it for me under warranty still I was happy.

I am having the same issues now with the dealer. I had it in at 2500 miles to get the front rotors and pads changed. Now at 8000 miles I am in the same situation. I am calling them tomorrow to set up an appointment. The first time I took it in the Service Advisor told me Chrysler said they would not fix them a second time. I asked him what the R/T was then saying what you can't do over 80mph on a track. He agreed with me.
What I have found out is they warp during hard breaking over 80mph. First time it happend I was passing someone to get to an offramp. Second time (a few days ago)I had a run in with a new model GTO who thought he was going to pull away from me.
