650 rwhp!!!!! Hmmmmmmmm, got about $20,000 or more to spend?

Your gonna need a new transmission and engine all together pretty much. Your Tranny will handle about 450rwhp with no problems. Anything above that and you're looking for trouble. Most people that get superchargers have them tuned somewhere in the market of 405 to 420 just to be on the safe side.

Your engine will have to have so much work done to it as well to handle that power. Your internals will have to be replaced with all bullet proof parts. Then you will be looking at an upgraded cooling system as well.

Mind me asking why you want to achieve the 650 rwhp mark? There aren't to many streetable cars in that power range. Usually when you get to that number, it is for track purposes. You will also need to check your states emissions laws. If you ever get that power, you probably won't pass the test... LOL!!!

The easiest and safest way to get that power though, will be to replace the engine and tranny, then you will need a power adder such as a supercharger or nitrous. I wouldn't suggest turbos, but that is just my opinion. I don't like turbos (unless it's a grand national).

You also have to remember that once you start doing this, you are going to have to replace the exhaust to handle the outflow pressure. You will need to reinforce the frame with upper and lower, front and back braces. If not, after about a dozen launches, you will torque the frame to bad and possibly break something that will be unfixable cheaply.

If you are looking to put the car on the track, you can also look into weight reduction. Put Charger on a diet. They are rather heavy compared to what is normally on the track. Look at glass replacement, carpet and seat delete, spare tire removed, blah blah blah.... You should know what I mean.

ok so Im going to expect to reach that mark over the next few years. But for now, to add some horsepower and get at least around the 450 mark, what can I do before supercharging it? And is there anything I can do to get to that mark withour a supercharger? Im lookin at $300-500 a pop every couple months or save up for a few months and add a big one at a single shot. What about cams and headers. Cats stuff like that? Already had a slp loudmouth catback exhaust. Id like to be just over 400 by christmas. Any suggestions? the absolute next thing I am definately getting is a Sport Tuner. But would like to start making a list for other things to get as well. Any advice would be great

Yes most defiantly get a Diablo Tuner.

Slap a nitrous kit on it to obtain the most HP for the least cost.

Do they have supercharging down on the LX yet? Last I knew was not many survived boosting with a super charger?

I wonder how much HP/TQ Baldy is putting out with his 06 stroker?

I went to a installer up in West Palm Beach to talk to them about the superchargers and they have it pretty nailed. They also work directly with Predator since they are pretty much right down the road to come by and custom tune cars after install.

While I was there, I saw a 300 that has had his SC for over a year. Saw a couple challengers as well, one being an '09 that was blown up. Reason that it blew up, was because they had it tuned to over 500rwhp, took it to the track, and blew it up after 3 runs. LMAO!!!! Also sad though but it was a sponsor car that they got to stroke and blow it to see what could be done. So they decided to "test" to see if the hemi internals stock could handle more power... NOPE!!!

Now as far as self bolt on and loading a canned tune, never met anyone that has done that down here.

Well that really sucks... But at least it was just a tester, and noone really had anything to lose. So it looks like once im able to start getting over 425-440rwhp Id say i need to look into forging the internals. Eventually its gonna be a stock engine casing with all aftermarket parts in it from what im guessing. LOL.. Anyways, Tuner and a K&N cold air intake are the next things Ill be getting here shortly(i dont like the black finish on the cold air i got now ha) and then im not sure where im gonna go for bolt on's. Guess Ill just hafta feel it out. Maybe Ill go for shorty headers and cams... Anyways, ill let ya know how the tune turns out once i get it...

Cam, heads, Headers, SRT Intake manifold and injectors, Timing set, torque converter, and you got the exhaust covered and I'm assuming a CAI. Predator is a must. With all those components you will need a custom tune as well. That should get you around 400 at the wheels for almost 5 grand.

I am in the same boat as kaptenmorgen. Im looking to buy headers, CAI, 3.55 gears and a tuner for my R/T now just to start out. How much HP will I gain from just doing that.

fossil, you can look at a gain somewhere between 40 - 60 HP. It is all going to come down to which headers, which CAI, which tuner, goes into it. Another thing is if your Charger is an '09 or newer. The newer Chargers have been been getting a little better gains than the '08's and older units due to some slight upgrades to the Hemi. Not much though, just a little.

The best thing would be to get your car dynoed before mods then dyno again after mods. Then you really can see what your gain would be.

Go to inertia motor sports too. You can get new heads, cams, tq converts and more. You really can get more than 450 at the wheels without boost. R/Ts are already sitting close to 300+ stock, depending on the dyno. While you're on a dyno, get them to do a dyno tune with the predator or trinity. That's one of the best ways to squeeze out more power from that 5.7L.

There are guys out there with the 5.7s that are getting a lot more power out of their engines. I believe there are a few out there using the same trannies (ie 6.1s) getting way more power out of them.

Good luck and have fun. Just remember one thing, this is a very addicting hobby.
