Why do you "Strongly Dis-like" the Charger?
The bigger question is.... if you see a Creeder on the street.... do you even notice it? I walked by an SRT version at Carlisle and didn't even notice it was an SRT version......
The Mustangs have been out longer. Anyway, it's all a matter of opinion and where you live. For example: In Tallahassee, where my Dad lives, I have only seen one. When I went to visit Fort Myers for 3 weeks, I saw about 20 of them.
What I don't like about the charger is just for the simple fact that it didn't live up to the concept car pics that I seen... other then that there isn't much complaints to me.
If you ask me, many people who may buy this thing may be actually too young to remember the charger of old that we associate with the Dukes Of Hazzard. This thing imo have the potential to sell to the urban crowd as the 300C and in it's own right is a steroid pumper of a sedan. the power numbers of the r/t and daytona is drop dead frightening. Won't even get into the upcoming srt8 which actually got me leaning towards this car in the first place when I was previously fascinated on... well... the new mustang gt's. While the charger is a few notches below the mustang in styling and lack of identity towards the original, at least it's light years away from the butt ugly GTO (fast powerful demon yes but **** just looks like a grand prix undergoing it's 10th plastic surgery... did they just throw away all sense of good styling when they stopped making the firebird?!?!).
I can understand how mad those who remembers the old charger are. The Charger afterall was once a rival of the Mustang and today it brings power numbers which puts it favorably to the stang yet today's stang stays more true to the original whereas the charger only has the power of it's predecessor. However some of us... well... actually many of us may not be too concerned about that seeing how goin to freeway speed around 5.5 ticks and a opportunity to blow away a ricer and looking good in the process for the ladies is indeed possible in this car. And while it's not as eye popping as the mustang, it's not bad looking at all. Especially when more aftermarket places will join in on the charger bandwagon by x-mas

I agree that I would have loved the '99 Concept to have been produced. But if I remember correctly, even it had 4 doors. The buyers that the Charger is targeted toward tend to have a family. In the days before child seats, two doors could work for those who had a family and wanted a sporty car. No so today.
Is the new Charger as sexy as the old one? Well, which old one? While the Charger name was in continuous production from 66-79, most would agree that the 'golden years' were 68-70. The new Charger is more striking than all but the 68-70's. But even those legendary cars are post '65 NASCAR Hemi ban. Can the new Charger compete with the myth? I believe it can, even if it's only via the SRT model.
For those who really love old Chargers, how about this

HAHAHA... I love reading posts from those 'New Charger' haters out there... You are indeed a breed of your own... Everytime (and it happens multiple times each day) I get in that car, I either get a wave, a thumbs up or a car wanting to race. When I park the car in public, I cannot mention the amount of draw it gets from those walking past, around it or looking into it. Give it up guys... The new charger is here to stay and has a HUGE following...

Yanno, what I find funny, is had this car never been made with the Charger nameplate, most people probably wouldnt be up in arms over it. It's a decent looking car, but I still think it looks like a 300C minus the front grill. It has great performance and a roomy interior. I guess the problem most people have with it is its just not a 2dr. I also dont like the look of the new GTO, it does steal a big styling part from the Grand Prix.
That said, I dont think you will ever see 100k of these cars sold a year. The main reason is the 300C & Magnum. Plus the rumor that the 300C wagon may be coming stateside as well. There was 2 huge factors in why the Camaro died out. One, it was split 3 ways on one platform with the Firebird and TransAm. Whether it was the TA, Firebird, or Camaro, had it only been one car being produced, it would still be here today most likely. Two, there were just too many other cheaper performance cars that offered less performance but just as much fun to a lot of people. Money talks these days, especially with the gas prices. Even the Monte Carlo should have died out years ago with its hideous styling. The same reasons why the Camaro died are the same reasons why I think you will see the Charger/Magnum/300C lineup losing a car in the next 3-5 yrs also.
The Charger has a huge following??? Not likely, more like the ENGINE IN IT has the following. All kidding aside, the only reason most people I know would buy it is because of the Hemi engine. Think of all the people who want a Hemi in the Dakota or only bought the Ram because it had the Hemi in it. I hope I'm wrong and the Charger does stay around for a decade or longer, but I doubt that will happen without some kind of 2 door Charger/Cuda coming out to help balance it.

Ok i dont hate the charger but jus the new one. Its jus another 300 with a old name. now i have seen the same chargers sit at the dealership for the past 2weeks and no one is buyin one and i only seen bout 2 chargers here in southern maryland. Now most of us here have imports or mustangs and most people her drive mustangs then anything else. I have seen mustangs range from 65-2005 here and the r all being driven. I keep seing them at the delearship and in that same week they r gone and replaced with new ones. Everywhere i look is a mustang which makes me happy cause im a ford fan and im thinkin bout sellin ma strat and buyin one cause ma strat was a free car from ma popz and i like a performance coupe but if i had the cash i would make ma sedan a coupe. Wich only means welding the back doors shut and taking out the back seets and make ma car a 2-seater but i want a bang for the buck and a car with a lot of go and mustangs jus have that and plus they r PERFORMANCE COUPES WITH A 5-SPEED. enough said.

I love how every one just complains that "the interior is too plain" or "they should offer the 4.7 HO as engine in the SXT. If they were to do either of these ideas...the cost of the car would go even higher. The 4.7 HO would tack on $2000-$3000 to base price. If the interior were to be more fancy or luxurious....that would cost more.
I live in Michigan....near Auburn Hills, and i see all of the LX line ALL over the place. They can't keep them in the dealer. My mom will be turning in her 04' Grand Cherokee for one of the LX line cars. I would have to agree on the Mustang. You see them all over the place b/c they are sooo cheap. Thats why they're known as the poor man's race car. I still can't belive they offer a V6 Mustang, i think thats hillarious!
I personally love the new chargers. I think the front end is VERY agressive. I love the interior, especially with the Navigation, lol.
