Will Charger Love Be Greater Then Mustang Eventually?
Saleen Mustangs are pieces of garbage [X(] There's a clown at my school who owns one and it wouldn't start for him a few weeks ago. I wanted to laugh at him and make comments, but didn't want his "yo gang" beating me up.

On Friday my next door nieghbor brought home his new baby, a Saleen S281 Mustang with 4.6L V8 (5sp manual). I will agree that they are one nice looking car. Would I buy one, no, not for that kind of money. He offered to let me take a spin in it. Nice get up and go, healthy growl and a very nice "Sports Car". Does it compare to the Charger, no. There is nothing about them that the two can be compared. The mustang is 500-600 pounds lighter, the interior is much smaller, wheel base shorter. Yes with the lighter car, and Saleen claiming 325HP, it would give an R/T or Daytona a run for it money speed wise. But trying to compare the two is like trying to compare apples and oranges. These two cars are not even close to the same.
If I was looking for a lighter sports coupe with a lot of power I would be either waiting for the Challenger to come out or looking into the Mustang, but I wasn't. No matter how great looking the Saleen was, or how fast it was, or how great it might handle, I still need a larger car and have grown kids to haul around to places. The Charger fills my needs due to its large sedan build, 4 doors, power and performance, and the fact that Dodge put the Charger name on it is why I like it so much.

Maybe that guys "Yo Gang" would have used their "POSER MOBILE" prepaid minuets to call some friends and be like "Yo shortie...you bangin our stang? You bangin our Stang?"

the charger isnt competing with the mustang...it will never compete with the mustang, until the mustang is offered in a family sedan. there is NO comparison to each other, and the charger will never out sell the mustang...ford sells more 6 cylinder mustangs than will sell of the charger

END OF DISCUSSION!
No matter what we think of Ford, you can't argue that the Mustang is America's sports car along withe the Crovette. Mustang owners are getting from Ford what it seems so many of us Mopar fans want. 2 door, V8, Rear while drive, manual transmission. I love the Charger, but it has changed "jobs". It isn't competing with the mustang or the GTO, it is competing with your 7 Series BMW's, your AMG mercedes sedans and the like.
it wont be as popular as the stang, the stang has pretty much always been here, the charger has been on & off 60s-70s, then a reappearence in the 80s with a 2.2 liter engine now again in 05
