Will Charger Love Be Greater Then Mustang Eventually?

Will Charger Love Be Greater Then Mustang Eventually?
I was browsing a Mustang board yesterday and was amazed that the forum about one car was bigger then this forum for Dodge's whole line. Since the Charger is going to be competing with the Rustang, do you think the Charger will ever be loved as much as the Mustang? Alot of people around this area want Mustangs bad and think "they own all".... but with the new Charger, will they attept to think again? I'd like to see just as many Charger enthusiasts out there as Mustang enthusiasts and wanted to hear your thoughts about this.

the charger isnt competing with the mustang...it will never compete with the mustang, until the mustang is offered in a family sedan. there is NO comparison to each other, and the charger will never out sell the mustang...ford sells more 6 cylinder mustangs than will sell of the charger

I personally think that the reason the mustang is so popular is because it has never left the public eye...that and the fact that it was the first pony car. Plus the sales it had early on selling more than any car in the world in it's first year. All these things make it a sort of legend in the popular culture.
I've onwed 3 of them and have one now and even to this day i get people talking about my 2000 like it was an 05. Kinda weird but there you go.
I think the charger has alot going for it but brute strength a legend does not make.
just my .02
BTW Matt just out of curiosity was the mustang board TheMustangSource.com?

RE: Will Charger Love Be Greater Then Mustang Eventually?
On Friday my next door nieghbor brought home his new baby, a Saleen S281 Mustang with 4.6L V8 (5sp manual). I will agree that they are one nice looking car. Would I buy one, no, not for that kind of money. He offered to let me take a spin in it. Nice get up and go, healthy growl and a very nice "Sports Car". Does it compare to the Charger, no. There is nothing about them that the two can be compared. The mustang is 500-600 pounds lighter, the interior is much smaller, wheel base shorter. Yes with the lighter car, and Saleen claiming 325HP, it would give an R/T or Daytona a run for it money speed wise. But trying to compare the two is like trying to compare apples and oranges. These two cars are not even close to the same.
If I was looking for a lighter sports coupe with a lot of power I would be either waiting for the Challenger to come out or looking into the Mustang, but I wasn't. No matter how great looking the Saleen was, or how fast it was, or how great it might handle, I still need a larger car and have grown kids to haul around to places. The Charger fills my needs due to its large sedan build, 4 doors, power and performance, and the fact that Dodge put the Charger name on it is why I like it so much.
