What's going on with my headlights when I turn the car on the headlights come on and stay on even when I turn the headlights switch off. Does anyone know what I can do to solve this problem?

 

It's called day time running lights or if sometimes referred to as DRL. This is a safety option that is installed/ turned on from the factory.

Did this just start happening? If you PM me the VIN I can see if the DRL's were enabled at the factory. If the vehicle was originally sold in Canada then for sure it came from the factory that way as it is the law in Canada that vehicles have DRL's.

Is you interior light control turned all the way up? If it is turned down this will happen. When you turn your headlights on at night next time, turn your interior lights all the way on until the courtesy light comes on inside the vehicle then back it off only enough to turn the courtesy light out. Are the dash lights still off?

Dimmer Control

The dimmer control is part of the
headlight switch, and is located on the
left side of the instrument panel. With
the parking lights or headlights on,
rotating the dimmer control upward
will increase the brightness of the instrument
panel lights.

 

i can only see the temp outside and what gear im cant see how fast im goin or how much gas i have

 

could it be a bad switch or what

 

It could be the switch. Do the dash lights work when only the parking lights are on?
